Blood Flow Restriction Therapy for Neurological Disorders (Multiple Sclerosis)

Linked is a current research study (clinical trial) underway investigating the outcomes of blood flow restriction training using interval-based walking training to study the effects on muscle size, strength, and function for patients with multiple sclerosis.

Recently, blood flow restriction training has gained interest for clinicians studying neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis, stroke, and cerebral palsy. It is hypothesized that BFR may assist with allowing these people to maintain their function for longer periods of time when training with BFR.
